Alexandros Papadiamantis International Airports is just 1.5 – 2 km. away from Skiathos town. Aegean Airlines and Olympic Airlines hold all-year flights from Athens to Skiathos. Summertime (April until early October) there are daily flights; the flight time is 40 minutes. In addition to that, summer is also the time for flights from Thessaloniki (Sky Express / 3 times a week) and for the charter flights from Central & Northern Europe. If are planning a trip to Skiathos during the high season, it is vital that you book the internal flights beforehand.
By Ferry
From Volos:
The nearest to Skiathos port on the mainland is Volos (Magnesia region). Ferries run daily: Skiathos Express (or Express Pegasus) — big double-decker ships with garage section; travel time — 2:35 hr. Summertime Skiathos Express runs twice daily.
Travel time could be reduced by choosing the high-speed ferry Flyingcat; travel time — 1:40 hr.
How to reach Volos: regular bus from Thessaloniki to Volos; travel time — 2:30 hr. For the groups of 15-18 pax it is better to order a minibus, it allows you to reduce the costs and travel time.
From Agios Konstantinos:
Sea port of Agios Konstantinos is located 170 km away from Athens. The regular buses to Agios Konstantinos depart on schedule from Athens bus station.
The Flyingcat ferries run to Skiathos once a day. You can also choose the big Apollon Hellas ferry.
From Agios Konstantinos, as well as from Volos you can reach the other islands of North Sporades — Skopelos and Alonissos, from where you can also buy a ferry ticket to Skiathos. The “Flying Dolphin” ferry run 50 min. from Skopelos to Skiathos, and 1:20 hr. from Alonissos to Skiathos.
