Skiathos is a small island if just 50 km², but in order to discover all its parts and visit the most interesting places, we advise you to rent a car or ATV (quad-bike). The island has one main road, where a regular bus runs (15-20 min interval), but car will save you from waiting for public transport and give you freedom of movement. Car will also let you move inland (where excursion mini-bus is not able to go) to look inside of Skiathos: to see the hills covered with olive and pine trees; to see the coastal cliffs and deep blue sea from the highest points; to reach the lighthouse; to go to faraway mountain monasteries and swim at the western beaches.
